Skeleton Athlete Development (target ages 14-26)

Youth and young adults (ages 14-26) that want to take up the sport of skeleton on a competitive level can enroll in the Skeleton Athlete Development program. It runs from November to March,  training sessions run an average of three to five times per week. Consistent coaching support ensures progression and skill development.


Program Components/Fees

November to March: On-ice bobsleigh training. Sessions run 3-5 times per week (average)

  • Program cost full-season program (November 8, 2017 to March 18, 2018): $1,600 
  • Less frequent sliding is possible, ask about 10-session or drop-in options.
  • Additional costs:
    • BCBSA Membership ($50)
    • Equipment Rental ($250/season)

April to October: OFF

  • Athletes are encouraged to participate in as many other sports as possible to develop overall athletic ability.

  • NAC (BCS selected athletes) - Whistler (Nov. 4-6, 2017)
  • BC Cup #1- Whistler (Jan. 13, 2018)
  • BC Cup #2- Whistler (Jan. 14, 2018)
  • BC Cup #3- Whistler (Feb. 17, 2018)
  • BC Cup #4- Whistler (Feb. 18, 2018)
  • Provincial Championships, Whistler (Mar. 17-18, 2018)
