Skeleton Sport Programs

Skeleton programs are offered for ages 14 and up, and include introductory one-time sessions, multi-day pilot schools and full-season training for all levels (recreational and athlete, youth and adult).

A clear pathway (see table below) leads skeleton athletes through their progression levels:


(target ages 14+)

First-touch, one-session programs such as Discover Skeleton. Athletes are familiarized with the sport of bobsleigh with actual on-ice sliding. 
SKELETON SCHOOL Winter season program (November to March), with three schools being offered per season. Learn the basic skills needed to steer a skeleton sled and working towards being a competitive or recreational skeleton athlete.

Competivite & Recreational Skeleton
(target ages 14+)

Winter season program (November to March). For both competitive and non-competitive athletes. Sliding sessions available three to five times/week. Season pass, 10-time pass or drop in available. Equipment rental available. International athlete options available.


Athletes must have world-class abilities to be selected to these teams (selection is directed by Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton).

Discover Skeleton (for ages 14 and up)

The Whistler Sliding Centre in partnership with the B.C. Bobsleigh and Skeleton Association are offering the opportunity to try out the Olympic winter sport of Skeleton by sliding down the track on your own sled!

Skeleton School

Youth and adults (ages 14+) that want to acquire in-depth skills required to race on a skeleton sled can enroll in one of our multi-day Skeleton School programs (January 9-11 or February 21-23, 2018).

Club Sliding Skeleton (target ages 14+)

Youth and adults ages 14 and up who want to regularly be involved in skeleton either competitively or recreationally can sign up for the Club Sliding Program, which offers sliding opportunities three to five times per week.
