Cross-Country Ski and Snowshoe Trails — Our Main Public Focus
Whistler Olympic Park has cross-country ski trails for all abilities — from first-timers to Olympians. All 55 kilometres of trails are expertly groomed for both classic and skate skiing and divided into three distinct areas: 15 kilometres of Olympic competition trails in the centre; 10 kilometres of scenic training trails in the south; and an extensive 30 kilometres of recreation trails in the Madeley Creek valley to the north. A total of 30km of the recreation trails will be available for public skiing this 2009/2010 season. With an additional 42km of trails at the adjoining Callaghan Country we are offering more than 70km of trail to explore this season.
The trails also include 5 kilometres of lit trails for night skiing, a paved rollerskiing loop for summer training and our very popular 4 kilometre “Pooched” dog-friendly ski trail. (Note. Pooched loop closed this 2009/2010 season)
The adjacent 42 kilometres of cross-country ski trails at Callaghan Country Wilderness Adventures bring the total available trails up to almost 100 kilometres, making Whistler Olympic/Paralympic Park and the Callaghan valley a truly world class destination ski area. (70km this 2009/2010 season)
There are also 15 kilometres of tranquil and scenic snowshoe trails allowing for further exploration of Whistler Olympic/Paralympic Park and the beautiful Callaghan valley.
